Monika Walser, born in Aargau, started her apprenticeship as Haute-Couture tailoring specialist in 1982. Afterwards, a teaching diploma in Baldegg, Lucerne followed. Monika Walser completed the Master of Science in Rhetoric & Technical Communication at the Michigan Technological University in the USA as a full time study. Furthermore, besides working, she completed the Executive Master in Management Communication & Leadership at the University Lugano, the Executive Master specialised in Telecommunications & Change Management in Fontainebleau & Copenhagen, as well as the Executive Master of Business Administration in Leadership and Ethics at the Institute for Philosophy and Ethics in Zurich.

Her first position as CEO and owner started in 1994 with the Cassiopeia Trend AG. Monika Walser ran this factory for children clothes until 1998, when she retracted to the board of directors, and later sold the factory. From 2000 to 2004 she took on the position as Chief Communication Officer and member of the Executive Board, first at the newly founded telecommunication company diAx and after the sale at TDC Switzerland AG/sunrise.

From 2005 to 2009 she was CCO and HR manager, as well as deputy managing director at ETRANS AG and founded swissgrid AG, in which the assets of Etrans were merged. During this time, she was elected as the UCTE (Union for the Co-ordination of Transmission of Electricity) responsible for communication and political matters. From those projects she founded the WAEGA-Group AG in Zurich with two other partners in 2009. To this day she still takes care of the mandates of Sanitas Krankenversicherungs AG, Orior AG and the Zurich Zoo. Monika Walser also took over as CEO of the Swiss bag and accessories manufacturer FREITAG lab. ag from the end of 2009 until March 2014.

Monika Walser has been head of the Manufacture de Sede AG since April 2014.
