Benjamin Stanzl

Ben Stanzl launched Stanzl Investment Advisory with a mission to connect the entrepreneurial, investment and innovation communities of Silicon Valley and Europe. He spent the last 25 years in the United States, primarily in Silicon Valley, and in 2020 returned to Continental Europe.
Ben has more than a decade of experience in the sustainability and industrial technology ecosystem, as an entrepreneur and investor. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of FreeWire Technologies, Titan Advanced Energy Solutions, Kairos Aerospace and CNIguard and, among others, overseas investments in tado and Xpansiv. He supports Energy Innovation Capital as a Venture Partner - Europe.
Prior to founding Stanzl IA, Ben was a Managing Director for Energy Innovation Capital, the premier venture and growth capital investor, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He joined EIC at its inception in 2016 and focused on investments in energy storage, smart home, advanced manufacturing, industrial internet of things and digital technology.
He has also worked at several leading companies in the energy, automotive and infrastructure sector. He led the Strategic Alliances team and was a member of the Renewables Investment Group for Chevron Energy Solutions, Chevron’s renewable energy arm. He was also an Associate at AECOM, a large integrated infrastructure company and spent time at BMW NA.
Stanzl IA is his second entrepreneurial endeavor. While at Harvard, he co-founded Trophos Energy, a developer of microbial fuel cells.
Ben earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry from Stanford University, a Master's in Chemistry from Harvard University and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.
