Pregnancy related mortality is 100 times higher in Sub-Saharan Africa than in Europe. Malaica has developed a program which addresses this: remote midwives support women throughout their pregnancy and ensure they get care according to WHO recommendations. The program is running successfully in Kenya, with strong user and revenue growth. Malaica is driven by a team of doctors, midwives, engineers and serial entrepreneurs.
