PEP is a novel type of rechargeable battery permitting safe and environmentally- friendly storage of electricity. Used as a hybrid in connection with the newly invented nanocrystalline solar cell, it is expected to find widespread application in the rapidly growing telecommunications market, particularly in portable telephones.
