Current technologies identify only ~50% of the 20,000 human proteins and largely miss the millions of protein modifications driving diseases such as cancer and neurodegeneration. UNOMR, an ETH Zurich spin-off founded in 2025, enables single-molecule protein sequencing using a novel nanopore sensor. By combining nanotechnology, biochemistry, microelectronics, and AI, we allow labs to read proteins as easily as DNA.
